It is the role of the Conservation Commission to enforce the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, the Rivers Protection Act and the Auburn Wetlands By-Law. The Conservation Commission aspires to minimize the impact of activities on wetland values, including public or private water supply, groundwater, flood control, erosion and sedimentation control, storm damage prevention, water pollution prevention, fisheries, freshwater shellfish, wildlife habitat, recreation, aesthetics, agriculture and aquaculture values.

The Conservation Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Town Manager for three-year terms. The Commission meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Auburn Town Hall Planning Board Room.
